On a musical journey that began in 1982, Annie and Rod Capps have earned sincere praise for their songwriting and musicianship, with two albums topping the Folk-DJ charts, multiple Detroit Music Award nominations, and most recently, as a 2-time Kerrville New Folk Finalist (2012 & 2010). Married in 1994, they’ve cultivated a symbiotic sound that reflects their deep and intuitive understanding of each other, delivering songs about broken things and poignant little ponderings with a rootsy vibe, a touch of twang and a soulful groove.
Mission Statement / Elevator Pitch
We are musicians, singers, songwriters, performers and generally lucky people with a lot on our minds that we frequently share in song. We perform locally in our home state of Michigan on a regular basis and have toured nationally from California to Maine. We’ve released 7 self-produced recordings since 1999 and remain open to growth and the inevitable evolution of our art, observing and absorbing the inspirations all around us in our everyday lives. It is our fervent desire to always give our whole heart and soul along with 110% of our energy to anyone who chooses to listen to our songs. We sincerely want everyone who has made the choice to attend one of our shows to leave feeling satisfied, maybe with a newly provoked thought or lingering chuckle, and always truly glad they came.
