What News!?

{East Coast Tour} <7/22/2010>

Here’s what I know for sure - there are some really wonderful people out there, without whom we would not have had NEAR as much fun. Their willingness to help us musicians along our way - most of them other musicians – was awesome. Our first tour out east has been glorious and we’re all so full of gratitude right now. Not because the gigs have been spectacular and certainly not the money but each one was very special and so much fun. [READ THE WHOLE BLOG]

{Kerrville Capers} <6/2/2010>

Thanks so much for all the awesome support you showed us for our trip to Texas. It was an amazing experience like no other and we have SO much to say about it, but that will have to wait till I have more time. We're back at home and looking forward to lots of big fun to come! {Texas here we come! } <4/27/2010>

Hey, check it out!! http://www.kerrville-music.com/newfolk.htm - In great company we are and truly honored to be selected. Road trip anyone? 3 days on the road, 3 days at the festival, play our 2 songs (and a few more at the camp fires), listen to a whole lot of magnificent artists, then 3 days home! My sister, Alice, scheduled a business trip so she could come cheer us on! That's love!

{One song at a time} <4/8/10>

So we just got notified of this nice little plug for our song "Another Day". Darius Rips writes a pretty cool music blog and he mentioned us here: http://oliverdiplace.blogspot.com/

Big thanks to everyone who voted for our song "Honey, Sugar, Baby, Mine" It was selected for inclusion on the free Valentine's Day Sampler CD put out by The Alternate Route, a cool music webzine. If you'd like to download your free copy, click here.

{Socially Inept? Me?} <3/27/2010>

I'm afraid I've succumbed to yet another social networking site (sounds like an illness).
That's right folks Annie is now on Twitter. Working on building a "following" so help me out if you're a twitterer too!

Recently attended an abbrieviated Folk Alliance Conference - We were invited to do an "Official Showcase" at which we played to a full enthusiastic room! Very exciting. Were you there? Let us know!

Our (relatively) new CD "My Blue Garden" is here, and we really want you to have one! Order your copy right now! The Folk DJs made it their #2 album in August and #31 for the year! Maggie Ferguson of WXOU in Auburn Hills, MI named it as one of her Favorite Albums of 2009, WVPE in Elkhart Indiana, named it in their Top 40 albums for 2009 and we've had a couple nice reviews too. Radio stations all over the country and abroad continue to play it and the feedback has been really great! Visit our press page to read all about it.

What else is up?

We've bundled 4 of our CDs in a sweet little package and it can be yours for only $35. That's only $8.75 per CD. Less than itunes or the bargain bin at Borders.

The 4 pack includes: In This Town, One Big Show, Not So Sure & Happy New Day.

I mean, if I do say so myself... that's a darn good value.

The word is out about the new Yellow Room Gang CD "Happy New Day", which Dirty Linen calls ".....A splendid showcase for a group of exceptional songwriters." and SingOut! Magazine describes as "...an example of one of the great joys of singer-songwriter music: the fascinating variety of ways in which talented songwriters express themselves in song." (read the complete review here) There's a song for nearly every holiday (even some you didn't know existed) including a special gang version of "Honey, Sugar, Baby, Mine" featuring Rod and Jim Bizer trading licks and an acoustic version of "When My Time Comes" with just the two of us and some sweet harmony by Jan Krist.

Available now from cdbaby: "As Long As I'm Here", Is a CD to benefit the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. It features songs from Peter, Paul & Mary, Josh White Jr, John McCutcheon, Matt Watroba, Tom Chapin, Foxfire, Pamela Campau, Anne Hills, David Mosher, Siusan O'Rourke & Zig Zeitler, Eric and Polly Rapp, Ann and Will Rowland and us. We're honored to have "When My Time Comes" appear on such a wonderful CD for such a worthy cause.

Our mailing list is still the best way to stay up-to-date with us and something new coming this summer -exclusive to members of our mailing list- we hope to begin including in our newsletter occasional free downloads of rare live recordings, outtakes and sneak peaks as well as other special offers and discounts not available to the general public. Click on the link to the right to join.

Don't forget to check out the "GRATITUDE CORNER" which is where we spotlight some special folks who have helped us out along the way, along with other things for which we are grateful... like the birds.
